Joseph Christopher Middlebrook was born in 1888 the son of Alfred a wood cutter and the late Maria Middlebrook née Lindores of 26 Foxhall Road Nottingham. Alfred was born in 1846 at Bradford, Maria Lindores was born in 1850 at Longdon, Staffordshire, married in 1876 at Nottingham they had six children, In 1911 the family were living at 26 Foxhall Road, Hyson Green, Nottingham, Alfred is 63 yrs and a wood cutter, he is living with his wife Maria 61 yrs and their daughter Ethel Harriett 27 yrs a clerk.

Military History

Rifleman Joseph Christopher Middlebrook enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 12th battalion Rifle Brigade, he was killed in action on 17th August 1917, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial
