He was the son of Frederick William and Florence Annie Atkinson and the brother of William, Florence, George, Thomas, Harry and Hilda Atkinson. In 1911 they lived at 6 Dursley Terrace and later 28 Bateman Street (both Hyson Green Nottingham).

Military History

Private Frederick Thomas Atkinson enlisted at Nottingham on 27th May 1915. He went to France on 6th March 1916 and was killed in action, 8th October 1916, aged 21, during the attack on Schwaben Redoubt, near Thiepval, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
