Family History

He was the son of Annie Mary Tyler (formerly Adcock) and the brother of Lily and Annie Adcock. He was the half brother of Elsie Tyler. In 1911 they lived at 4 Camomile Street Hyson Green Nottingham.

Military History

Acting Corporal Matthew Adcock, enlisted at Nottingham and served with the 2/7th Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment (Robin Hood Rifles), he was killed in action on 5th June 1917 by German shellfire whilst serving in the trenches at Bilhem Farm, near Neuville, France. He is buried in Metz-en-Couture Communal Cemetery British Cemetery.
