Morley Frederick Wilson was born on 24th May 1890 at Ruskington, Lincolnshire, he was the son of the late William a joiner and the late Alisamon Wilson née Platt of Ruskington . William was born in 1847 at Sleaford, he died in 1895 aged 48 yrs, Alisamon Platt was born in 1851 at Ruskington, she died in 1901 aged 50 yrs, they were married in 1887 their marriage was recorded in the Sleaford registration district, they went on to have 9 children. Morley married Louisa Ellen Whitman on 26th August 1914 at St John’s Church, Farnsfield they lived at 1 Woodend, Worksop

Military History

Morley Frederick Wilson enlisted on 3rd August 1914 at Lincoln, giving his age as 25 yrs and 102 days, his occupation was that of a turner. He served with the 7th battalion Lincolnshire Regiment, he died of a gun shot wound to his chest and elbow on 4th March 1916 at the 17th casualty clearing station Belgium and is buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium.
