Family History

Thomas Baguley was born in 1884 at Mansfield, and was the son of Thomas John a farmer dairyman and Kezia Baguley née Linacre of Hill Farm Huthwaite. His father Thomas John was born in 1849 at Edingley his mother Kezia Linacre was born in 1854 at Dronfield, they were married in 1877 in Sheffield and they went on to have the following children, Harriett Agnes b1880, Thomas b1884, Sarah b1889 all their births were registered at Mansfield, there final child John was born in 1891 his birth was registered at Southwell registration district. In the 1911 census the family are living at Hill Farm Huthwaite and are shown as Thomas John Baguley 63 yrs a farmer and dairyman, he is living with his wife Kezia 57 yrs and their children, Sarah 21 yrs assisting in her fathers business and John 19 yrs a blacksmiths apprentice. In the same 1911 census we find that Thomas has left the family home, he is boarding at Victoria Road, Pinxton, Derbyshire, he is shown as being 25 yrs single and a railway station porter, he is living with a widow Margaret Chamberlin 43 yrs of age. His pension record card shows he was living at 17 North Street, Huthwaite at the time of his death.

Military History

Driver Thomas Baguley served with the Royal Field Artillery, his pension record card shows that he was discharged from the Army on 8th December 1918 when he was 35 yrs of age, the card further shows that he died on 8th February 1922. There is no record of this man on the CWGC website.
