John Edward Wooton

John Edward Wootton was born in 1888 in Hucknall and was the son of William a coal miner and Elizabeth Ann Wootton née Bramley of 36, Victoria St, Hucknall. His father was born in 1854 in Bilston, Staffordshire and his mother was born in 1861 in Alfreton. They were married in 1882 their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration area they had 16 children, 7 of whom died in infancy or early childhood. Their surviving children were all born in Hucknall and were Florence b1885, William b1887, John Edward b1888, Elizabeth Ann b1890, Beatrice May b1898, Ethel b1900, Cyril b1906 and Sidney Harold Bramley b1910. In the 1911 census the family was living at 18 Victoria Street, Hucknall and were shown as William Wooton 57 yrs an unemployed coal miner, he is living with his wife Elizabeth Ann 45 yrs and their children, John Edward 23 yrs a coal miner banksman, Elizabeth Ann 21 yrs working at home, Eliza 20 yrs, Florence May 13 yrs a scholar, Ethel 11 yrs a scholar, Cyril 5 yrs of age, and Sidney 1 year old.
