Henry Richard Barratt

Henry he was born in Nottingham in 1891 the son of Thomas a carter coal merchant and Susan Esther Barratt nee Griffin His father Thomas was born in 1857 in Bradmore, Nottinghamshire and his mother Susan was born in 1866 in Birmingham , they married in 1887 in Nottingham and went on to have 4 children, they were Henry Richard b1891, Thomas William 1893, Ernest Arthur 1895 and Tennent b1902, all the children were born in Nottingham. Henry married his wife Florence Bullard Morley in Nottingham in June quarter of 1909 , they went on to have a daughter Frances Barratt b1910 in Nottingham. In the 1911 census his parents and siblings are living at Maitland Road, Sherwood, and are shown as Thomas 54 yrs a carter , living with his wife Susan 44 yrs a lace mender and their children , Thomas 18 yrs single and a railway porter, Ernest 15 yrs a gardener and Tennant 9 yrs , also at the address are 2 boarders. Meanwhile Henry Richard has left the family home following his marriage is living at 16 St Ann's Cottages, he is living with his mother in law , Florence Morley He is with his wife Florry 20 yrs and daughter Frances he is working as a coal porter. He later worked for Great Northern Railways Company at St Anns Well station and went on to have 3 further children Alice born 1912 and Agnes born 1914 and Stella born 2nd December 1917 following her fathers death.
