Francis Henry Whitton

Francis Henry Whitton was born in 1896 at Southwell, he was the son of Walter a coal miner loader and Emma Whitton née Jepson of 147 New Houghton, Mansfield . His father Walter was born in 1873 at Sheffield, his mother Emma Jepson was born in 1876 at Southwell, they were married in in 1895 their mariage was recorded in the Southwell registration district, they went on to have two other children, Doris Eliza b1900 Alfreton and Gladys Letitia born 1907 Pleasley. In the 1911 census his parents and siblings are living at 147 New Houghton, Mansfield and are shown as Walter Whitton 39 yrs a coal miner loader, he is living with his wife Emma 36 yrs and their children, Doris Eliza 12 yrs and Gladys Letitia 4 yrs of age In the same 1911 census Francis Henry has left the home address he is living at Deansgate, Pleasley, he is shown as being single 15 yrs of age a servant, an apprentice butcher, he is living with Francis Humphrey 42 yrs a butcher and his wife Margaret. Francis Henry Whitton married his wife Annie Eliza Lowe in 1916 their marriage was recorded in the Mansfield Registration district, they lived at Hardwick Park, Teversall, Mansfield, Notts they went to have a daughter Frances Annie born 18th July 1916. Following his death his widow Annie Eliza was awarded a pension of 18 shillings and 9 pence a week which commenced on 7th May 1917.
