Private Cecil Ratcliffe, served with the 5th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 27th May 1918. Having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Soissons Memorial.

Article published 26th July 1918 in the Mansfield Reporter and Sutton Times :- “MANSFIELD PRIVATE KILLED. “Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Ratcliffe, late of Rosemary-street, Mansfield, have received news that their fourth son, Pte. Cecil Ratcliffe, has paid the supreme sacrifice in France.
