Mansfield Chronicle Advertiser: 08/11/1917, Photograph. Mr and Mrs Slack of Ash Cottage, Sheepbridge Lane, Mansfield. Percy was their only son. He enlisted 20/03/1916. He had taken part in the taking of Thiepval on 28/09/1916. He was a Lewis Gunner with the West Yorkshire Regiment. He was killed by a sniper's bullet. A letter was included in the report. This man is commemorated in a book of remembrance held by Mansfield District Council.
