Widow: Mary An Connolly of 48 Bradder Street, Mansfield. Nee Williamson and married 8/2/1886. Children: John; 1889, Ethel; 1892, Alex; 1895, James; 1898 and Henry born 25/01/1901. Alexander had been born in Canada during the 1860's and had returned to England by 1886 when he married Mary in Leigh, Lancs.

Military History

Attested 20/08/1915 aged 46 years 11 months (Alexander lied about his age, knocked at least 10 years off his age). In France from 28/8/1915. Medically discharged as physically unfit for war service on 9/6/1916. Cataract right eye, sees fingers only and senility. Not the result of active service.

Extra Information

Buried at Nottingham Road Cemetery, Mansfield. This man is commemorated in a book of remembrance held by Mansfield District Council.
