Family History

He was the son of Emma Richmond and the brother of Edith, Fred, Tom (killed in action 19/4/1918) and Mabel Richmond. In 1911 they lived at 51 Manning Street Woodborough Road Nottingham.

Military History

He enlisted in Nottingham in the Sherwood Foresters, No. 3768 but after arrival in France he was posted to 2nd Battalion, Cheshire Regiment. He was killed in action during the continuing Battle of Loos, but his body was never recovered. His name was commemorated on the Loos Memorial (Panel 49 & 50).
