He was the son of Ernest Arthur and Norah Mary Poyser. In 1911 they lived at 143 Robin Hood Chasem St Ann's, Nottingham, before moving to Woodborough Road, Nottingham (Nottingham Evening Post, 4/12/1916). His parents later lived at 138 Robinson Road, Mapperley (CWGC).
Served as 'Wilson'. Clarence served with the 1st Australian Light Horse under the name of Wilson. He saw service in the Dardanelles. He died in Nottingham of pneumonia and is buried in the General Cemetery, Nottingham. (Evening Post December 4, 1916)
Nottingham Evening Post, 7th December 1916.“POYSER. – On December 3rd, of pneumonia, Clarence Bertram Poyser, late Australian Light Horse Artillery, of Woodborough-road, Nottingham, passed peacefully away after brief illness, in his 20th year, having served in the Dardanelles.”
