Ernest Pearson was born in 1897 the son of Frank Pearson a baker and confectioner and Elizabeth Pearson, née Allsopp of 116 Dame Agnes Street St Ann's Nottingham. His father was born in 1873 at Nottingham and his mother in 1874 also at Nottingham. They married in 1891 and had seven children. Ernest's siblings were Frank b.1893 Nottm, Florence b.1897 Nottm, Annie b.1899 Nottm, Harry b.1900 Derby, Charles b.1907 Nottingham and Edith b.1910 Nottingham. In 1911 the family lived at 1 Upton Place Sherwood.
Ernest Pearson enlisted in Nottingham and landed in France on 11th November 1914 . He was killed in action on 1st July 1917. He has no known grave his name is commemorated on the Loos Memorial at Dud Corner Panel 87 to 89.
The award of his military medal was announced in the 'London Gazette,' dated 22nd January 1917. In memoriam published 1st July 1918 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- “PEARSON. – In loving memory of Lance-Corporal Ernest Pearson, M.M., killed in action July 1st, 1917.
