He was known as 'Billie'. He was the son of William and Mary Johnson of Nottingham and the brother of Kathleen, Agnes Mary, Dorothy and Margaret Johnson. In 1911 they lived at 7 Gordon Road St Ann's Nottingham. He was the husband of Elizabeth Johnson, 2 Garnet Street, Gordon Road, Nottingham. At the time of William's death his mother and sisters were living at 7 Rushworth Road, West Bridgford (obit).

Military History

He served in the Royal Garrison Artillery, 190th Siege Bty. He died of wounds and is buried in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery (grave ref XIX.C.7A).
