He was the son of John William and Elizabeth Goodacre and the brother of Flora, William James, Beatrice Alice, Mary, Bertha and Harry Goodacre (killed in action 4/11/1918) of 1 Turner Street Nottingham. He was the husband of Flora Goodacre and the father of John William and Sidney Goodacre. In 1911 they lived at 25 Westfield Lane Mansfield and later at 131 Alfred Street South Nottingham.
