Family History

He was born in 1895 the son of Albert Eversley, a chair maker. He had two siblings, Charles and Jane. In 1911 his father, a widower, lived with his three children, George Albert (15), Charles (14) and Jane (11) at 27 West Ville Street, Nottingham. Also in the household was the children's uncle, Albert's older brother, Thomas (41).

Military History

He served in France from 21 May 1915. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial Panel Reference: Pier and Face 11 C and 12 A. He qualified for the 1915 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal.

Nottingham Evening Post obituary (abridged), 23 October 1916: ‘Eversley. Killed in action September 16th, Private GA Eversley, KOYLI, age 21. Father, sister, brother Charlie.’
