He was the son of Arthur and Ada Cragg and the brother of Arthur Leonard and Frances Carrie Cragg. In 1911, they lived at 10, Ashfield Road, Sneinton Dale, and later at 14, Lewis Street, Alfred Street Central, (both Nottingham).
