He was born in 1890 the son of Thomas and Ann Cox who in 1891 were living at 51 Lewis Street, Nottingham, in the parish of St Mary's. Thomas and Ann had three children, George (16), Elizabeth (12) and Thomas (4 months). Ten years later in 1901 they were living at 14 Dane Street, St Ann's, Nottingham; only Elizabeth and Thomas were in the household at the time of the census. Thomas, a bobbin carriage hand, died age 49 in 1901 (death registered Oct/Nov/Dec). In 1911 Ann was still living at 14 Dane Street with her two youngest children, Elizabeth and Thomas. Ann probably died in 1911 age 56 (death registered Apr/May/June). At the time of his death, Thomas' address was given as 26 Curzon Street, Nottingham.
RASM Clearing Office. He died in hospital and is buried in Nottingham General Cemetery (grave ref. 20167).
Nottingham Evening Post notice (abridged), 29 January 1919: ‘Cox. Died in hospital, Driver TH Cox, Army Service Corps, age 28. Brother, sister. Home address 26 Curzon Street.' Rachel Farrand
