Norman Brewer was born in 1895 at Nottingham he was the son of the late Henry James a carter and Ada Emma Brewer née Cutts of Nottingham and the brother of William Henry, Alice May and Arthur Cecil Brewer. Henry James Brewer was born in 1871 at Nottingham, he died in 1908 aged 37 yrs Ada Emma Cutts was born in 1872 at Nottingham, they were married in 1895 at Nottingham and had 4 children. In 1911 the family lived at 19 Herbert Street St Ann's Nottingham Ada Brewer 39 yrs a widow and charwoman is living with her 4 children, Norman 15 yrs a cardboard box cutter Arthur Cecil 11 yrs, William 9 yrs and Alice Mary 6 yrs.

Military History

Private Norman Brewer enlisted at Derby and served with the 10th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment. He landed in France on 14th July 1915 and died of wounds on 16th April 1916 and is buried in Bailleul Communal Cemetery, Nord, France.
