Arthur Frederick Booth was born in 1897 in Wilford and was the son of Arthur a quantity surveyor and Amelia Kate Booth née Jeacock. His father Arthur was born in 1876 in Nottingham and his mother Amelia Kate Jeacock was born in 1874 in Leicester, they were married in 1895 in Nottingham and went on to have 3 children all born in Nottingham , Arthur b1897, Doris b1898 and Minnie b1899. In 1911 they lived at 15 Kilborn Street Alfred Street North Nottingham.
Company Sergeant Major Arthur Frederick Booth enlisted in Nottingham and served with 'D' Coy, 10th battalion King's Royal Rifle Corps. He landed in France on 21st July 1915. He was killed in action on 28th February 1917 and is buried in A.I.F. Burial Ground, Flers
obituary published in the Nottingham Evening Post dated 27th March 1917 : - “BOOTH. – Killed in action, February 28th, 1917, Coy.-Sergt.-Major Arthur Booth, K.R.R., only son of Arthur Booth, surveyor, King-street, and Kate Booth, 11, Wiverton-road, Nottingham, aged 20.” Above obituary is courtesy of Jim Grundy and his facebook pages Small Town Great War Hucknall 1914-1918
