Frederick Peet was born in 1898 the son of Leonard a drayman and Mary Peet, née Hallam of Lodge Row, The Leys, Ruddington. Leonard was born in 1877, Mary Hallam 1878 (both at Ruddington). Married in 1896, they had four children, three surviving infancy - Frederick b1898, Walter b1906 and Harry b1908. In 1911 they lived on Lodge Row, The Leys, Ruddington.
Frederick Peet enlisted at Nottingham on 26th August 1916 giving his age as 18 years and 5 months he was a department manager, posted to the reserves he was mobilised for war on 17th February 1917, he embarked from Dover on 31st March 1918. He was reported missing in action on 27th May 1918, he had been taken as a prisoner of war, he died on 21st October 1918 and is buried in Berlin South Western Cemetery, Grave Reference VI.H.10
