Walter Caunt

Walter was born in 1895 in Awsworth and was the son of Tom a colliery labourer and Harriett Caunt née Mosley . His father Tom was born in 1851 in Radcliffe, Notts and his mother Harriett Mosley was born in 1856 in Cotmanhay, Derbyshire , they were married in 1880 , their marriage was recorded in the Basford Registration district. They went on to have the following children all born in Awsworth , Elizabeth b1882, Thomas b1884, George b1886, Benjamin b1891, Walter b1895, Harriet b1896, and Alice b1898. In the 1901 census the family are living at the Meadows in Awsworth Tom is 48 yrs a colliery labourer he is living with his wife Harriet and their children Thomas, George, Benjamin, Walter, Harriett and Alice , also living with them is their married daughter Elizabeth Eason 19 yrs and her husband George Eason b1879 (son in law) also at the address is a lodger George Widdowson 48 yrs born Awsworth a coal hewer. His father Tom died in 1902 , his age at death is recorded as 55 yrs. His mother Harriett in 1905 marries George Widdowson, at Nottingham (he was her lodger in the 1901 census.) they live at 2 Lendal Square Gamble Street Nottingham. In the 1911 census his stepfather George Widdowson 59 yrs and his mother Harriett Widdowson 55 yrs are living at 60 Gladstone Street, Nottingham, also at the address are George Caunt 23 yrs, Walter Caunt 16 yrs a coal hewer, Harriett Caunt and Alice Caunt.
