Family History

Frederick Peacock (junior) was born in 1894 at Ruddington, he was the son of Frederick Peacock (senior) a farm labourer and Eliza Ann Peacock née Blood of The Leys, Ruddington. Frederick Peacock (senior) was born in 1861 at Nottingham, Eliza Ann Blood was born in 1861 at Ruddington, they were married on 30th January 1881 at Nottingham, they had 7 children. In the 1911 census the family were living at The Leys, Ruddington, Frederick is 50 yrs and is a farm labourer, he is living with his wife Eliza Ann 50 yrs and their children, Emma 26 yrs a lace mender, George 22 yrs a farm hand, Fred 17 yrs a farm hand Elizabeth 13 yrs a hosiery maker and Florence 8 yrs a scholar.

Military History

Private Frederick Peacock enlisted at West Bridgford whilst residing at Ruddington, he initially served with the service number 34901 in the Sherwood Foresters Regiment, later he transferred to the 10th battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment. He died on 6th February 1917 of a cerebral hemorrhage and is buried at Couin New British Cemetery, France.
