Family History

Arthur Holden was born in 1871 at Bulwell he married Sarah Preston in 1898 their marriage was recorded in the Loughborough registration district, they went on to have 2 children, William b1899 Loughborough and Arthur born 1906 at Radford. In 1911 the family lived at 8 Kennington Terrace, Gadd Street and later at 4 Gadd Street (both Radford Nottingham).

Military History

Sergeant Arthur Holden enlisted on 26th October 1914 , he served with the 2/7th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment. He was discharged from the Army on 30th July 1918 suffering from Nephritis and was issued with a Silver war badge number 381807. He died on 4th June 1920 and is buried at Nottingham General Cemetery.
