Amos Wagg was born in 1898 the son of Samuel a coal miner and Priscilla Wagg née Buck of 52 York Street, Hucknall Torkard, Nottinghamshire.Both his parents were born in 1864 at Hucknall Torkard. Married in 1886, they had six children, five surviving infancy - Samuel b1891, Florence b1889, Mabel b1893, Amos b1898 and Dorothy Wagg b1901. In 1911 they lived at 52 York Street, Hucknall Torkard. Samuel worked as a pit banksman, Florence and Mabel were shawl dressers.

Military History

Amos Wagg, enlisted at Hucknall aged 16 landing in France on 14th July 1915. Vermelles British Cemetery, Pas de Calais.
