Family History

Frank Wilson was born in 1895 he was the son of Albert Edward a lace maker and Nellie Wilson née Barradell of 5 Bentinck Street, Sneinton, Nottingham. Albert Edward was born in 1864 at Nottingham, Nellie Barradell was born in 1867, also at Nottingham, they were married on 12th July 1884 at St Peters Church, Nottingham, they went on to have 11 children, sadly two of whom went on to die in infancy or early childhood. In 1911 the family were living at 5 Bentinck Street, Sneinton, Nottingham, Albert 47 yrs is a lace maker, he is living with his wife Nellie 44 yrs and 6 of their children Frank 16 yrs is a lace threader.

Military History

Private Fran Wilson enlisted in Nottingham, he initially served with the service number 34506 in the Sherwood Foresters Regiment. He later transferred to the 2nd battalion Royal Scots and was killed in action on 26th September 1917 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot memorial.
