War obituary, All Saints Church News, August 1917: 'Edward Walter Tomlin, 9 Ayr Street, Private Sherwood Foresters, aged 20 [CWGC 19], joined the army at the end of 1914 and was some time training in England, went to France June 1916 and reported missing July 1916 after being there only 3 weeks. His parents have been informed he is now officially presumed killed.'
