Stanley Ronalds was born in 1893 at Watford, he was the son of John Thomas a hosiery warehouseman and his second wife the late Jesse Newman of 74 Wellwood Road, Goodmayer, Essex. His father John Thomas was born in 1847 at Islington, he married his first wife Sarah Ann Scroggs (1846-1883) in 1871 at Islington, they had 5 children. He went on to marry Jessie Newman (1851- 1905) they were married in 1884 they had a further 5 children, he finally married Rose Eleanor Dove (1868-1952) they did not have any children. In 1911 the family are living at 74 Wellwood Road, Goodmayer, Essex, John Thomas is 64 yrs and is a hosiery warehouseman he is living with his 3rd wife Rose Eleanor 43 yrs and his daughter Ethel 17 yrs working at home. Stanley married Lillian Tomlinson (born 9th September 1897) in 1915, their marriage was recorded in the Mansfield registration district, they went on to have a daughter Jessie born 22nd December 1915, they lived at 20 King Street, Sutton in Ashfield. Commencing 31st December 1917 his widow was awarded a pension of 18 shillings and 9 pence a week.

Military History

Trooper Stanley Ronalds, enlisted at Mansfield whilst residing at Nottingham, he served with the Household Cavalry and Cavalry of the Line and was killed in action on 3rd May 1917 and is buried at Roeux British Cemetery, France.
