Frank Camm (junior) was born in 1894 in Nottingham and was the only son of Frank a carpenter/joiner and Lucy Camm of 75 Cedar Road, Nottingham. His father Frank Camm (senior) was born in 1851 in Barholm, Lincs and his mother Lucy was born in 1859 in Nottingham, according to the 1911 census they had been married for 18 yrs and had 6 children, sadly however 4 had died in infancy or early childhood, their remaining surviving child was a daughter Lizzie Ellen born 1898 in Nottingham. In the 1911 census the family are shown living at 75 Cedar Road, Sherwood Rise, Nottingham and are shown as Frank 60 yrs a carpenter/joiner, he is living with his wife Lucy 52 yrs and their children Frank 17 yrs a clerk and Lizzie Ellen 13 yrs
Private Frank Camm, enlisted on 17th July 1915 at Nottingham, he gave his age as 21 yrs and 8 months his address as 75 Cedar Road, Sherwood Rise, Nottingham, his occupation was that of a clerk and his religion was Church of England , he gave his next of kin as his parents Frank and Lucy of the same address. He served with the 12th Battalion Durham Light Infantry, landing in France on 11th December 1916 , he was killed in action on 7th June 1917. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial
Nottingham Evening Post notice (abridged), 18 June 1917: 'Camm. Killed in action June 7th, Signaller F Camm, Durham Light Infantry, in his 24th year, only son of Frank and Lucy Camm, 75 Cedar Road.'
