Albert Proctor (junior) was born in 1891 he was the son of Albert Proctor (senior) a farm labourer and and Olive Proctor née Sharman and the brother of Bessie, Thomas and Mabel Proctor. Albert Proctor (senior) was born in 1860 at Belchford, Lincolnshire, Olive Sharman was born in 1858 at West Ashby, Lincolnshire, they were married in 1878 at Lincoln, they went on to have 12 children, sadly four died in infancy or early childhood. In 1911 they lived at Hockerwood Farm Southwell and later at Upton (both Nottinghamshire). Albert (senior) 51 yrs a farm labourer is living with his wife Olive 53 yrs and 5 of their children, including Albert 19 yrs a farm labourer. Albert (junior) emigrated to Canada

Military History

Private Albert Proctor enlisted on 11th March 1916 at Saskatoon, Canada , giving his age as 24 yrs and 3 months, he stated he had previous military service, 3 years in the South Notts Hussars his next of kin was his father Albert of Upton, Nottinghamshire. He was posted to the 52nd Manitoba Regiment, Canadian Infantry. He was killed in action of 18th April 1917, havin no known grave his name is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial, Pas de Calais France.
