Edward Else was born in 1892 at Newbold, Derbyshire In 1911 he is shown living at Crownhill Barracks , Devon, he is shown as being 19 yrs and A Private in the 2nd battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment. Edward married Elizabeth Walker in 1917 their marriage was recorded in the Sunderland registration district, they lived at 24 Rosanna Street, Deptford, Sunderland.
Colour Sergeant Edward Else enlisted at Derby whilst residing at Sunderland, in the 1911 census he is in barracks in Devon with the 2nd battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment. He landed in France on 4th November 1914. He was killed in action on 27th April 1917 and is buried at St Patricks Cemetery, Loos
