Retfordian, In Memoriam:'Reginald M Pinder, Captain in one of the W. Riding Regiments was killed in action on October 14th. He received his commission in August 1914, and had been at the front for two years. He was wounded during the great July campaign on the Somme in 1916, and was convalescing in England for a few weeks just as School broke up for summer vacations. He was a splendid officer, brave almost to reckless, and loved soldiering for its own sake.'
