Leonard Raworth

Leonard Raworth was born in 1893 at Southwell and was the son Mary Raworth , Kirlington Road, Southwell His mothers parents were the late Nathan a road labourer and Sarah Ann Raworth née Crowder of Westhorpe Southwell. His grandfather Nathan was born in 1839 at Southwell and died in 1916 at Southwell aged 77 yrs, his grandmother Sarah Ann Crowder was born in 1848 at Southwell, they were married in 1865 at Southwell they went on to have the following children, Thomas 1869, Emma b1874, Mary b1876, Georgina b1878, Thomas b1880, George b1883, Edith b1885, William b1886, Edith b1891, and Lucy b1897, all were born in Southwell. In 1904 his mother Mary Raworth married Richard Coppock, their marriage was recorded in the Nottingham Registration District, Richard had previously been married and brought 4 children to the marriage. In the 1911 census his grandfather Nathan is living at 24 George Street, Mansfield Woodhouse with his married daughter Georgina and her family, he is shown as being 73 years and a pensioner. In the same 1911 census Leonard Raworth is living with his step family at Kirklington Road, Southwell he is shown as being 17 yrs a grocers errand boy, he is living with his step father Richard Coppock 49 yrs a twisthand and his mother Mary Coppock (2nd wife ) 40 yrs, and children, Richard William Coppock 22 yrs an assistant overseer, Leonard Raworth 17 yrs (stepson), Harriett Elizabeth Coppock 17 yrs, George Ernest Coppock 12 yrs and Agnes Emma 9 yrs ,they state they have been married for 7 yrs. The CWGC website shows him as the son of Mary Coppock , Victoria Terrace, Southwell
