Family History

George Nicholls was born in 1888 the son of Thomas Nicholls. He married Annie Elizabeth Tipping (born 2nd February 1888) on 24th May 1915 at St Saviours Church, Nottingham, they lived at 32 Rye Hill Cottages, Kirke white St., Nottingham. Commencing 14th April 1919 his widow was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and 9 pence a week.

Military History

Private George Nicholls served with the Army Service Corps, No1 Reserve MT Depot, he was later transferred to the 534th Agricultural Coy. Labour Corps and given the service number 508994. He died on 7th October 1918 at the Scottish General Hospital at Aberdeen he died of abcesses and is buried at Nottingham Church (Rock) Cemetery (grave ref St. Paul's. 9894)
