Family History

Son of Oliver and Emily Hind, of Spaldrick, Port Erin, Isle of Man (CWGC). Oliver Hind senior was the brother of Jesse; both were sons of William and Ann Hind. Jesse had four sons including Oliver Watts Hind, the founder of the Dakeyne Street Lads’ Club, and Lawrence Arthur, Lieutenant Colonel 1/7th Bn Sherwood Foresters, who was killed 1 July 1916. Another cousin, Lieutenant Jesse Francis Montague Hind, 9th Bn Sherwood Foresters, was killed 27 September 1916.
