Family History

Joseph was born in 1896 in Nottingham and was the only son of Joseph a shop manager (sports outfitter's shop) and Ada Elizabeth Stirland [née Hingley] of 85 Ella Road West Bridgford Nottingham. His father was born in 1872 at Burton Upon Trent, Staffordshire and his mother in 1871 at Nottingham. They were married in Nottingham in 1895. Joseph left £404 13/7d - probate awarded to his father (Probate Nottingham 8/4/1919).
