Military History

Rifleman George James Nicholson, served with the 2nd Battalion King's Royal Rifle Corps, he was killed in action on 11th May 1916. Having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Arras Memorial. His battalions war diary for 11th May 1916 reads " 1 shell buried 8 men of D Coy in a dug out.
