Son of Frederick Nicholson Turney and Eliza Robertson Turney (nee Jardine). Brother of William Turney, Second Lieutenant, South Staffordshire Regiment, killed in action 10 July 1916 (Thiepval Memorial).
Service record and place of burial for Fred Turney cannot be found
There may have been an error on the memorial as it was his brother William who died in the war. Marriage certificate/newspaper article for Fred Turney dated some time after the war also provided specific information which proves he was the brother of the late William Turney.
