John Ernest Glover was born in 1883 he was the son of George a general engineer and Mary Glover née Owen of 5 Hetherington Place, Blommsgrove Street, Radford. George was born in 1855 at Tissington, Derbyshire, Mary Owen was born in 1858 at Birmingham, they were married on 6th April 1879 at St John's Church, Nottingham, they went on to have 10 children, sadly two died in infancy or early childhood. In 1911 the family are living at 35 Bloomsgrove Street, Radford, George is 56 yrs and a general engineer, he is living with his wife Mary 53 yrs and 4 of their children. His sister Rose was his legatee

Military History

Gunner John Ernest Glover enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 3rd seige battery, Royal Garrison Artillery, he landed in France on 17th September 1914. He died at 2 General Hospital at Brighton of pneumonia on 11th December 1914 and is buried at Brighton (Bear Road) Cemetery, England
