Archibald John Wright

Archibald John Wright was born in 1885 at Nottingham and was the son of the late Joseph Wright a barman and Elizabeth Edith Wright née Norweb. His father Joseph was born in 1847 in Nottingham and died in 1890, he was 43 yrs old, his mother Elizabeth Edith Norweb was born in 1856 also in Nottingham, they were married on 25th March 1875 at Christ Church parish church at Radford, they went on to have the following children, Albert b1876, Florence b1878, Joseph b1880, Beatrice b1883 all were born in Wymswold, their other children were Archilbald b1885 and Lilian b1889 born at Nottingham and Ivy b1889 at Nottingham. Archibald married his wife Lily Derwin (born 27th March 1885 Nottingham) in 1905 at Nottingham, they lived at 11 Russell Street, Nottingham, and had the following children, Horace born 15th December 1906, Florence born 12th November 1907, Winifred born 12th May 1910, Archibald born 16th July 1912 and Leslie Wright born 16th March 1916. In the 1911 census the family lived at 19 Kenilworth Terrace Portland Road Nottingham and were shown as Archibald Wright 26 yrs a window cleaner, he is living with his wife Lily 26 yrs a hosiery turner off and their chiildren, Horace 4 yrs, Florence 3 yrs and Winifred 10 months of age, also living with them and shown as boarders are Lucy Derwin 51 yrs married a turner off, Florence Derwin 19 yrs a turner off and Ada Derwin 14 yrs. Following his death his widow was awarded a pension of 39 shillings and 2 pence a week which commenced on 17th February 1919.
