Family History

Leonard Bosworth was born in 1890 the son of Agnes A Bosworth who was born in 1866 aat Breaston, Derbyshire. In 1911 Agnes was living at 5 St Cecilia Terrace, Nottingham. She was a Swiss lace maker boarding, along with her son Harry an 18 year old leather belt maker, with Samuel Fox 71 a widower and his daughter Sarah (14) a hosiery finisher. Leonard was boarding at Home Farm Ruddington in 1911, with hersman John Shaw and family.

Military History

Leonard Bosworth enlisted at Nottingham on 5th September 1914 and landed in France on 29th July 1915. He was admitted to No 6 General Hospital after being kicked in the face by a horse suffering a fractured jaw. He and was returned to England on 24th October 1917 and died of pneumonia at Market Bosworth. He is buried in Ruddington Cemetery.
