Thomas Hallam (junior) was born in 1900 the son of Thomas Hallam (senior) and Amy Hallam née Bailey and the brother of William and Florence Hallam of Portland Gate House Park Lane Kirkby in Ashfield Nottinghamshire. Thomas Hallam (senior) was born in 1870 at East Leake, Amy Bailey was born in 1870 at Barrow upon Soar, married in 1897 their marriage was recorded in the Loughborough registration district, they had 3 children. In 1911 the family are living at Portland Gatehouse, Kirkby in Ashfield.

Military History

Private Thomas Hallam was called up and enlisted at Derby whilst residing at Kirkby in Ashfield. He was killed in action on 25th April 1918, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial Panel 68 to 72
