Norman Glass Guy

He enlisted in the Notts and Derby Regiment (9th Bn), Private 224955 and was in France from 1 July 1915. He was commissioned in the Leicestershire Regiment as Second Lieutenant, 30 Jan 1918 (Source: Medal Roll). He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Soissons Memorial.

Nottingham Evening Post Roll of Honour, 26 October 1918: 'Second Lieutenant Norman Glass Guy, Leicestershire Regiment, reported missing on May 27th 1918 now reported killed in action. He was the third son of Mr and Mrs James Guy of Beauvale Road, Wilford Crescent, Nottingham, and had served in the Dardanelles and France with the Sherwood Foresters, In February this year he gained his commission and returned to France.'His death was also reported in the Boys Brigade Gazette, December 1918.In memoriam published 27th May 1919 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- “GUY. – In loving memory of our dear son, Lieut. Norman Guy, who was killed in action May 27th, 1918. How hard to say, “Thy will be done.” – From his loving mam and dad and brothers, George, Fred and Jack.“GUY. – In loving memory of Lieut.
