Charles Davy Miller was born in 1899 the son of Henry James a drapers assistant and Hannah Eliza Miller née Ball and the brother of Catherine Annie Miller of Waverley Villas, Alfreton Road, Sutton in Ashfield Henry James was born in 1860 at Sutton in Ashfield, Hannah Eliza Ball was born in 1864 at Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, married in 1895 at Holbeach they had 2 children. In 1911 the family are living at Brookfield, Kirkby Road, Sutton in Ashfield Nottinghamshire.

Military History

Private Charles Davy Miller enlisted at Mansfield whilst residing at Sutton in Ashfield, he was killed in action on 21st March 1918, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Arras Memorial
