Albert was born in 1896 in Nottingham and was the son of Charles William a lithographic printer and Elizabeth Walker née Attersall of 11 Bromley Place Market Place Nottingham. His father was born in 1860 in Lambley, and his mother Elizabeth Attersall was born in 1861 in Nottingham, they were married in 1883 in Nottingham and went on to have 10 children, sadly three of whom died in infancy or early childhood, their surviving children all born in Nottingham were : Arthur b1883, Fred b186, Charles William b1888, Harry b1894, Albert b1896, Lizzie b1898 and Tom b1901. In the 1911 census the family are living at 11 Bromley Place Market Place Nottingham, and are shown as Charles William 51 yrs a lithographic printer, he is living with his wife Elizabeth 50 yrs and their children , Fred 25 yrs a plumbers labourer, Charles William a hosiery hand, Harry 17 yrs a commercial clerk, Albert 15 yrs an errand boy, Lizzie 13 yrs a scholar and Tom 10 yrs a scholar.
Rifleman Albert Walker, enlisted at Nottingham and served with the 1/7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire) Regiment (Robin Hood Rifles). He landed in France on 28th June 1915 and was killed in action 13th October 1915. He is buried in Maroc British Cemetery, Grenay
His brother Fred Walker served with the 4th battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, he died on 19th October 1917 and is buried in South Dalton Church, Yorkshire.
