William Percy Kendall

William Percy Kendall was born in 1876 at Nottingham and was the son of William a hosiery machine fitter and Mary Rachel Kendall née Harris of 47 Bruce Grove Nottingham. His father William was born in 1851 at Nottingham and his mother Mary Rachel Harris was born in 1861 also at Nottingham, they were married in 1874 at Nottingham and went on to have the following children, William Percy b1876, Alice Mary b1884 and Annie Eliza b1891 all were born in Nottingham. William Percy married his wife Beatrice Annie Cooper on 11th August 1906 at the Wesleyan Chapel, Arkwright Street, Nottingham they went on to have a son Frederick William Kendall born 1st March 1917. In 1911 they lived at 76 Wilford Crescent East The Meadows Nottingham and are shown as William Percy Kendall 34 yrs a railway clerk he is living with his wife Beatrice Annie 25 yrs and their son Frederick William 4 yrs of age. In the same 1911 census his parents and siblings are living at 47 Bruce Grove, Nottingham and are shown as William 60 yrs a hosiery machine fitter he is living with his wife Mary Rachel 50 yrs and their children Alice Mary 27 yrs a dress maker and Annie Eliza 20 yrs a school teacher. Beatrice later lived at 11 Sherwin Street Nottingham. His probate was proven on 3rd May 1918 in Nottingham and shows him as William Percy Kendall 54 Radcliffe Street, Nottingham, Sapper in H.M. Army died on 16th February 1918, his effects of £221 1 shilling and 3 pence were left to his widow Beatrice Anne Kendall. His widow was awarded a pension of 20 shillings and 5 pence a week for herself and one child to commence on 2nd September 1918.
