Family History

Born during the third quarter 1893, he was the son of Thomas and Annie Booth. In 1901, he was living with his parents and siblings - Joseph Frederick and Frank Boreham – at Jubilee Street, Kimberley. His father was a pit carpenter. In 1911 he was living with his parents and siblings - Joseph Frederick, Frank Boreham and Cecil William Booth – at 132 Eastwood Road, Kimberley. His father was colliery a wagon farrier.

Military History

Thomas Arthur Booth enlisted August 1915 and served with the 1st/1st Nottinghamshire (Sherwood Rangers) Yeomanry. He went overseas post 1915. He was Renumbered 276043 in 1917. He died of pneumonia 17th February 1919, “whilst on demob. furlo.” and was buried in Kimberley Cemetery grave reference C. 5194

Extra Information

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission records his death as taking place on 27th February 1919. In memoriam published 17th February 1920 in the Nottingham Evening Post - “BOOTH. – In loving memory of Thos. T. A. Booth, 276453, 1st Notts. Sherwood Rangers, who died February 17th, 1919. Sunshine passes, shadows fall, sweet remembrance outlasts all.
