Joseph Eason was born in 1892 at Nottingham In 1911 he was lodging at 2 Sherwood Street Annesley Woodhouse Nottinghamshire shown as being 19 yrs of age and a Coal miner pony driver, he is lodging with Elizabeth Housley 57 yrs a widow.
Private Joseph Eason, enlisted at Hucknall he served initially with the service number 11836 with the Leicestershire Regiment later transferring to the 1st Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment, he landed in France on 17th February 1915 and was killed in action on 4th June 1915. He is commemorated on the Menin Gate memorial, Ypres, Belgium. .
