Family History

John Lomas Hudston was born in 1899 the son of John James a lace maker and Kate Hudston née Needham of Grove Avenue Chilwell Nottingham. John James was born in 1871 at Beeston, Kate Needham was born in 1871 at Long Eaton, married in 1895 their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration district. They had the following children, John Lomas b1899 Beeston, Doris b1902 Beeston and Arthur Edward b1909 Chilwell. In 1911 the family are living at Grove Avenue, Chilwell and are shown as John James a lace maker, he is living with his wife Kate and their children John Lomas 12 yrs a scholar, Doris 9 yrs and Arthur Edward 2 yrs of age.

Military History

Private John Lomas Hudston enlisted at Nottingham whilst residing at Beeston, he was killed in action on 27th May 1918 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Soissons Memorial, France.
